Holywell Triangle Conservation Area

The decision to pursue a conservation area for the Holywell Triangle was taken several years ago and is fully supported by the Parish Council. The Parish Council believes that the Holywell Triangle is of special architectural and historic interest, which justifies its conservation area status. The area has been affected in the past by developments which may not have been in keeping with its historic character and there is therefore a need for guidance to preserve and enhance the area.

In order to take this forward a “Conservation Area Appraisal and Management Plan” has been developed which provides a basis for making informed, sustainable decisions in the positive management, protection and enhancement of the Conservation Area. The Plan can be viewed or downloaded below:

Before the plan is finalised, residents and other stakeholders will have the opportunity to make comments through a formal consultation exercise. The consultation will run from 25th May 2019 to 5:00pm on 28th June 2019. A public meeting has also beeen arranged for Wednesday, 12th June 2019 at 7:00pm in the Recreation Centre on Holywell Lane, when residents will have the opportunity to share their views ask parish councillors and a representative from Leeds City Council any questions.

Please take time to read the plan and, if you wish to comment, please either email or write to the Parish Clerk on or before the closing date.
