Some residents who are registered with the Shadwell medical centre may be getting letters from the practice asking for a review and repeat vaccination.
These will be mainly in relation to child vaccinations and those for specific groups of adults.
The reason is that during the recent review and subsequent changes at the practice, possible inadequacies in storage and handling of some vaccines were identified, which could potentially affect the efficacy of the vaccines given. This applies particularly to vaccinations providing long term benefits and does NOT include the yearly flu vaccine or the Covid vaccine.
The healthcare staff at the medical centre will be able to advise further, but feel free to contact the Parish Council if you need to discuss any ongoing concerns.
